HOLLOWMAKER

Privacy & cookies

How your data is used when you browse the website, join the Vault or verify a commercial licence.

Last updated: 23 October 2026 · This notice is available in English and German.

At a glance

  • Your account and membership details are used to provide the Vault and check your access.
  • Patreon authorization shares account and membership information, never your Patreon password.
  • A licence QR link publicly shows the registered holder's name, an optional shop name and the current licence status.
  • The website uses a login cookie and browser storage for your settings. No advertising pixels or third-party visitor analytics are integrated into the Vault.
  • Questions or a privacy request? Email vault@hollowmaker.com.

1. What we collect and why

Contact form: your email address, subject and message are sent through our mail service to Hollowmaker to answer your enquiry. This does not subscribe you to model emails. The form uses the existing session cookie, abuse limits and technical delivery records. Messages are kept in our mailbox rather than the Vault database.

  • Account and seller profile: name, email address, a password hash, email-verification status, postal address, country, optional shop / business name, selling channels and any shop links or other details you enter. These identify the account and licensed seller, enable sign-in and support, and help administer commercial licences. Required registration fields are marked on the form; without them, registration cannot be completed. Profile changes and their review history are recorded.
  • Memberships and purchases: linked platform identifiers and names, eligible tiers, membership and payment status, access periods, purchase references, selected licence terms and their acceptance, amounts, currencies, exchange-rate records and receipts. These let us verify access, administer payments, renewals and cancellations, and keep business records. A Patreon-shop Lifetime claim and any other manual access request are reviewed by Hollowmaker.
  • Vault activity: saved favourites, email preferences, problem reports, replies and images you submit. These provide the features you request. Download and MakerWorld-link counters are recorded by model/file for creator statistics; they do not use a separate analytics cookie.
  • Technical and security data: session identifiers, security tokens, request information such as IP addresses, and operational logs handled by the hosting infrastructure. For creator accounts using two-factor authentication, this also includes the encrypted authenticator secret, one-way hashes of recovery codes, and short-lived sign-in challenges and attempt counters. These deliver the website, secure accounts, limit abuse and diagnose errors. Creator-prepared backup archives are stored in private hosting storage and are available for download for 24 hours from creation. Expired temporary copies are removed during subsequent backup operations.

We receive information directly from you, from your use of the Vault and from the membership or payment providers you connect or use. Ordinary profile details and selling channels are visible to you and Hollowmaker; they are not published as a member directory.

Public licence verification

When you generate a licence confirmation, its QR code contains a public verification link. Anyone who has that link can see the registered account holder's name, the current optional shop / business name, licence type, membership source, validity/status and relevant dates. Your optional shop name also appears on the licence PDF; changes appear on existing QR verification links and newly downloaded PDFs. It is supplied by you and does not establish shop ownership. Your postal address, email address and selling-channel details are not shown there. We also store whether you dismissed the shop-name reminder. Share the document only when you want to share this information. The verification link checks current access; cancelling or revoking the relevant licence changes its status.

2. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, account administration, membership checks, payments and requested Vault features are processed to perform a contract or take steps you request before entering one (Article 6(1)(b)). Legally required business records are processed to meet legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Security, abuse prevention, support and service maintenance rely on our legitimate interests in operating a reliable service (Article 6(1)(f)), balanced against your rights. Optional new-model emails rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)); you can withdraw it in My Vault or through the unsubscribe link. Account-verification, payment and other service messages are separate from optional new-model emails.

Access is checked automatically against membership and payment information. If you believe a check is wrong, contact us for a human review. We do not use your information for advertising profiles.

3. Services and recipients

  • Hostinger: website hosting, database/file storage and email delivery. Confirmation and service emails, and opted-in model announcements, include the recipient's email address and relevant message content. Infrastructure and mail providers process technical delivery data. Hostinger privacy policy.
  • Patreon: only when you choose to connect. Authorization happens on Patreon. The Vault requests your name and account ID and information about your membership to Hollowmaker, including entitled tiers, payment and renewal status. Encrypted authorization tokens allow subsequent checks. Your Patreon password and full card/bank details are not provided to the Vault. Disconnecting in My Vault removes the Vault link; it does not cancel Patreon billing. Patreon privacy information.
  • Stripe and your selected payment method: direct purchases use Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe and payment partners such as PayPal receive the information necessary to process your payment and perform fraud/compliance checks. We receive purchase identifiers, amounts, currency, billing/payment status and receipt information. Full card numbers and security codes are entered with the payment provider, not stored in the Vault. Stripe privacy policy · PayPal privacy statement.
  • Country.is: if a country was not supplied by the hosting infrastructure and no currency was selected, the licence shop can request your country from api.country.is. The service receives your IP address and technical request data. The request sends no Vault credentials or referrer; the Vault retains the country code, not the returned IP address, in its short-lived browser cache. Selecting a currency before a fresh lookup avoids the fallback request. This identifies a country, not your precise GPS location. Country.is service information.
  • Microsoft Translator: model titles/descriptions and print notes can be translated through Microsoft's service. Vault passwords, member profiles and problem-report conversations are not sent for model translation. Microsoft privacy statement.
  • External links: MakerWorld, Discord, social networks and Amazon affiliate links open the respective service when you follow a link. Their privacy/cookie policies then apply. Social buttons on this site are links, not embedded tracking widgets. Affiliate links can identify Hollowmaker as the referring creator.

Information is also disclosed when necessary to comply with legal obligations or deal with legal claims. We do not sell member data.

Processing abroad

Our hosting and the services above involve providers and infrastructure in Europe and other countries, including the United States; Stripe also describes processing in India. Providers' notices explain their locations and international-transfer arrangements, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses where applicable. Contact us for information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your data.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Cookies and similar browser storage have different purposes. The table describes the storage set by the Vault itself. Technical cookies used solely for a requested service, such as authentication and security, can be exempt from prior consent. Optional storage is not automatically necessary simply because it is useful. This notice provides information; reading it is not blanket consent to optional tracking.

You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie prevents account features from working. Clearing display preferences restores the default/automatic settings and does not delete your Vault account. Your payment or membership provider can use its own cookies on its own pages; its notice applies there.

5. How long we keep data

Account/profile data, favourites, membership records and report conversations are kept while needed to operate your account and handle the relevant membership or support matter. Archiving a member in the creator overview is not account deletion. Session and browser-storage periods are listed above; email confirmation links expire after 24 hours. Password recovery checks the saved postal code and sends a one-use reset link to the saved email address. Reset links expire after 30 minutes; request limits help prevent abuse. Reset records are excluded from backups and are gradually removed after 48 hours when further reset requests are processed.

You can request deletion at any time. Self-service deletion is available in My Vault where eligible; accounts with real direct purchases require contacting Hollowmaker so that recurring billing and legally required records can be handled first. Records needed for accounting, legal obligations or claims are retained for the applicable required period rather than erased merely because access ends. Payment providers retain their own records under their policies. Backups can contain older data until they are replaced or removed and are used for recovery, not as an active member directory. Contact us for the retention period applicable to a particular record.

6. Your choices and rights

Update your details and email preferences in My Vault. For access to or correction of your data, deletion, restriction, portability, an objection to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdrawal of consent, write to vault@hollowmaker.com. These rights apply subject to their legal conditions; we may need to verify your identity. Withdrawing consent does not change processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or, where the GDPR applies, your competent EU supervisory authority.

We update this notice when our processing changes. The date above identifies the current version.
